Just a moment while we sign you in to your Goodreads account. The main character Gwen goes with her three older brothers and her mom to Paris. What unfolds is a story of famous artists, anti-Semitism, and military conspiracy when a French soldier is wrongly accused of treason.
While visiting Notre Dame, Mira touches a gargoyle and is whirled into the past. I guess? I did not expect this "diary" to go the way that it did! it wasn't fun because she is missing her mom. Directed by Dominique Abel, Fiona Gordon. Mira’s character development is exceptional she starts off as pouting girl living in America to independent girl who runs all over Paris, in a different century to find and bring home her mom. Little does she know the entire week is about to center around her favorite band Shock Value.Gwen Russell gets the chance of her life to spend quality time with her mom because her brothers are set to go play in Paris with their Lacrosse team. We’d love your help. She befriends a few artists, one being the well known Edgar Degas. I was interested in this "Mira's Diary" because it's a YA time travel book concerned with Jewish history. Published Despite my interest in Jewish children’s books, I was unfamiliar with her writing and was pleasantly surprised by the information that she shared.
Mira soon finds out that the injustice has to do with the treatment of Jews at the time, and she is drawn in to the story of Alfred Dreyfuss. She's looking forward to spending quality girl time with her mom, but once they get to the City of Lights, they find out that her mom has to accompany her brothers. This is probably the book I read the fastest. It felt a little bit too educational with not enough heft for adult readers: I was disappointed, given how much I'd loved the Amelia series in my American Girl days.
Historical notes at back, and sketches accompanying text.Cute, and a great introduction for kids who might be interested in art or France but don't know much yet.
Filmed in Dominique Abel and Fiona Gordon's signature whimsical style, LOST IN PARIS stars the filmmakers as a small-town Canadian librarian … While I understand it's aimed at a YA audience, the time traveling conceit isn't very clearly drawn and the characters are pretty flat. Her father decides it's time for a trip to France to search for her. To get lost in the city is to really discover what it's all about. But, on June 11 a postcard from Paris arrives, signed by her mother. And I hope other people keep reading it.This book was good! She's looking forward to spending quality girl time with her mom, but once they get to the City of Lights, they find out that her mom has to accompany her brothers. It is a great book for tweens and mabye 3rd through 5th grade. Mira's Diary-Lost in Paris, is the first in a new middle grade series written by Marissa Moss and published by Sourcebooks Jabberwocky. This is a tween novel about a tomboy (although not if you look at the cover) girl named Gwen who is traveling with her family to Paris for her brothers' lacrosse tournament. But after reading the opening sentence I was already sure that this would be an intriguing read.At a first glance, I didn’t really know what to expect from Mira’s Diary: Lost in Paris.
Start by marking “Mira's Diary: Lost in Paris (Mira's Diary, #1)” as Want to Read: As Grace Healey passed through Grand Central Terminal on her way to work, she found an abandoned suitcase beneath a bench.
Bad reading Gwen’s adventure has taken me in Paris In some reader way, I think that the book was good but i didn’t see anything about being lost very disappointed. HelpThis book is really fun, it is fairly light while still having some tough elements. The complex syntax gave us ample opportunity to discuss the meaning the author was trying to convey. LOST IN PARIS is the third book in the LOST IN batch. Very sad story and I hope it never really happened.Loved it...Full of mystery & WW2 history. She finds her mother in Paris of the late 1800s (she is also a time-traveler) and becomes embroiled in her plot to change history. Gwen Russell gets a week in Paris because her three older brothers are playing in a lacrosse tournament. Marissa Moss really knows her readers and how to tell a story fluently in journal form. What a surprising little time-traveling gem!

Pam Jenoff’s New York Times bestselling book The Lost Girls of Paris is set in Manhattan, New York in 1946. It is based on true events of these brave women to help win the war. When I looked at this book online I thought I may like the plot so I purchased it, but when I started reading it, I found that the structure of the author's sentences in the first couple of pages was a bit confusing. Luckily, these 32 novels are ready to sweep you away to vastly different eras and se...Summary: "The Lost Girls of Paris: A Novel" by Pam Jenoff | Discussion PromptsI found this book very educational. Again, a bit over the top, but would probably be fun for a tween girl to discover Paris vicariously.I almost DNF this book, it was boring and I could guess everything that would happen, it was just too juvenile and too cheesy. THE LOST GIRLS OF PARIS. Then 1 year later I picked it up and it was pretty good.
