A fire in a popular Vancouver restaurant forced nearby tenants from their homes with little more than the clothes on their backs. On Friday, fire investigators were trying to figure out what caused a century-old house in Vancouver’s Kitsilano neighbourhood to go up in flames. The fire took place at Kits Furniture near West 8th Avenue and Burrard Street just past 7:00 a.m., and fire crews arrived after a passerby noticed the flames and smoke. Kitsilano is one of the city's organic-food hubs, and has extensive restaurants and retail along West 4th Avenue and West Broadway.
