It was refreshing to see small town life portrayed in a positive light, exposing some of the stereotypes that float around unchallenged. As she drives cross-country to her new life she hits a tractor in Normal, North Carolina and her BMW is wrecked. When Dr. Lisa Lelanad (Candace Cameron Bure) is caught speeding through the town she is sentenced to three of nauseum and community service. Otherwise, this is 90 minutes you'll never get back. Before he can get back to his old life, Ben must first embrace this reality and discover the value of faith and family, and perhaps restore his love for those who were heartbroken fifteen years ago: Wendy…and God. Was this review helpful? A simple country boy is the deep thinker. Thanks to the wonders of technology, actors now have an abundance of online resources to find legitimate casting opportunities. In Normal she finds a lot of very nice people, who are just happy being who they are and caring enough about one another, to help each other survive whatever problem they seem to be having. The acting is good, the sets are good, there is an actual story with a plot, and a few little turns to it. (Minor spoilers ahead) On one hand, Finding Normal treads very familiar ground: woman city slicker doctor lands like a fish out of water in a ridiculously good-natured burg in the middle of nowhere and has to rethink her priorities while first sparring with--then falling for--the good-looking bachelor town mechanic.
