Terrible. A 22-year-old F2 driver has died after a shocking crash on the same circuit that will host the Belgian Grand Prix later tonight.

Anthoine Hubert was tragically killed after an horrific crash during the F2 feature race at the Belgian Grand Prix - and Sunday's sprint race was cancelled.The 170mph incident sent the motorsport world into shock with the Frenchman passing away shortly after.Hubert, 22, crashed into American Juan Manuel Correa, who was taken to hospital but is in stable condition and has undergone surgery.The race was stopped and canceled quickly when it became clear the seriousness of the situation and the FIA announced Hubert's death at 6.35pm local time.Hubert appeared to lose control of his car on the exit of Raidillon, hitting the barriers hard and bouncing back into the track.Correa then, travelling in excess of 250km/h, had no chance to react in time to avoid the BWT Arden driver at full speed.Replays soon indicated the full extent of the crash with debris spread all over the track.The crash ended up splitting Hubert’s car in two pieces with other drivers trying to avoid joining the wreckage.Ambulances and medical staff quickly attended to the scene with all the involved drivers taken away to the medical centre.But the FIA later announced that Hubert had died from the injuries sustained in the crash, while Correa was in a ‘stable condition’.Hubert drove for BWT Arden team and won the GP3 Championship in 2018 and was also part of Renault F1's young driver programme.Renault released a statement, which said: "Anthoine was a member of the Renault Sport Academy and raced in the FIA Formula 2 Championship, the final ladder to F1. My prayers and thoughts are with you and your family today. "The Federation Internationale de l’Automobile (FIA) regrets to advise that a serious incident involving cars #12, #19 and #20 occurred at 17:07 on 31/08/19 as a part of the FIA Formula 2 Sprint Race at Spa-Francorchamps, round 17 of the season.The scene was immediately attended by emergency and medical crews, and all drivers were taken to the medical centre.As a result of the incident, the FIA regrets to inform that the driver of car #19, Antoine Hubert (FRA), succumbed to his injuries, and passed away at 18:35.The driver of car #12, Juan-Manuel Correa (USA), is in a stable condition and is being treated at the CHU Liège hospital.
